... and the Topps cards

To be included with each purchase of Tunnel-Ball, a pack of official Topps baseball cards featuring four characters. I love how these came out. (And yes, there are nerdy stats and whatnot on the back)

Announcement: Tunnel-Ball!

3/12/2016

Greetings everyone!

Last month I hinted at some details about a new picture book I was finishing up. Yesterday I received the print proof in the mail from the publisher much quicker than anticipated. Due to that, it makes the release date at within a month or so (though I can't officially confirm the exact date yet). However, I can officially announce that the book is titled Tunnel-Ball, and it is the story of a hopeful mole named Clive being selected to represent his home planet of Earth in an Intergalactic Baseball Championship.

I roughed out the ideas for this one before "Saxby" was even finished a few years ago. Completely changed up the plot so that it was not baseball-themed at one point (keeping the initial mole character), but I was too engaged in the original story to not let it see the light of day. I am proud of how it ultimately turned out and can't wait to share it with friends, family and you.

10"x8" hardcover -- more details coming very soon (PS -- the felt pennants will be available!)

"The Vinyl Side of Hanna-Barbera"

3/6/2016

This is not a new article, but one I just stumbled upon with my Sunday morning coffee. A fantastic, informative read per WFMU's old "Beware of the Blog". My favorite tidbit is that the psych legend 13th Floor Elevators actually had some 45s distributed by Hanna-Barbera Records (after doing some more research, said 45 actually includes their first single and one of their most well-known tracks, "You're Gonna Miss Me").

And if you, like myself, saw the cover of that "Cattanoogacats" LP near the bottom of the article and frantically went searching for a copy ... don't. It is as rare (read: expensive) and you'd imagine.
