... Yet Another Delayed Saxby Update.
Well, this should finally be the last "update" in the production sense. The first run of Saxby has left the printers and are currently en route to me. Then the fun stuff really happens. As roughly two years in the making I am overjoyed with finally getting the first print copy in my hands, and then into your hands.
Until then, go see The Boxtrolls this weekend! I am going here in a couple hours, meeting my usual quota of seeing approximately 1-2 films in the theater per year, and as usual they are of the animation variety.
I couldn't help but share this Bandwagonesque (classic Teenage Fanclub album) tile coaster I found today at the Westwood Art Show in Cincinnati, and what better way than to pair it w/ a cute cat photo, right?
... I purchase a new scanner (my old one seems to have completely died during my recent move), there won't be any new scans for a couple of weeks.
I do, however, have the completed page #1 for The Findings of Saxby the Squirrel read to share. If you have been following along, you probably already know that the book has been finished for a while now and has been in the post-production, design/publishing stage for a few months now. There have been a couple of frustrating setbacks. Given when the original manuscript and illustrations were completed, the original goal was for it to be out by Summer, which of course we're currently reaching the end of. The new ETA is somewhere in the October/November-ish range, December at the latest. Despite all of those politics, I am very proud of what has now been about a 2-year project since it's inception, and I'm very excited to share the finished project with everyone. My design partner kennydphillips.com really did a fantastic job w/ the color and design element and I especially can't wait to have the hard copy of the cover delivered (since we have been modifying the interior for months now). As a recap, Saxby is my new full-color children's picturebook, which is currently being self-published.
Finally, here is page 1. More to come soon!
